Our Team

James Fisher

Principal

James founded Molonglo Legal in 2022 after more than 13 years working in private practice in Canberra, Sydney and London as a solicitor and Chartered Accountant. His diverse technical experience in Australia and the UK includes corporate & commercial law, mergers and acquisitions, mediation and dispute resolution, international business structuring, tax litigation and corporate tax compliance.

James prides himself on finding commercial outcomes to legal problems, and continually learning about the practical challenges of business direct from business owners – and first hand! As our Principal, James is steward of the firm’s culture and values, striving to balance innovation and flexibility with professionalism and approachability. Perhaps unsurprisingly, he really likes strategy games.

Emily Hallt

Senior Associate – Disputes and Litigation

Emily Hallt joined Molonglo Legal in 2025 as a Senior Associate and leads the firm’s disputes and litigation practice.

Emily brings extensive experience across a broad range of complex disputes, developed through work in both private practice and government. She regularly advises on corporate and commercial disputes and has experience across all stages of litigation, including strategic case planning, pleadings, evidence preparation, negotiation and court proceedings.

Emily is particularly skilled in litigation strategy and statutory interpretation, allowing her to provide clear and practical advice in complex contentious matters. Her background also includes a Bachelor of Arts in Film and Screen Production and Literature, which informs a thoughtful and analytical approach to legal problem solving.

Maryana Yako

Lawyer

Maryana is an experienced lawyer who works across corporate, commercial and dispute matters. Since joining Molonglo Legal she has developed particular expertise in corporate structuring, directors’ duties and regulatory compliance.

Maryana is highly regarded for her careful approach to legal drafting and her ability to navigate complex legislative frameworks. Outside of work, Maryana enjoys spending time outdoors with her family.

Sarah Dillicar

Practice Manager

Sarah Dillicar is the engine that keeps our firm running smoothly – it’s no understatement to say she’s the cornerstone of our operational efficiency. From her background as an executive assistant to her versatile roles spanning office administration, paralegal support, and operations management, Sarah brings a unique blend of expertise and adaptability to our team.

But Sarah isn’t just about business; she’s also a passionate explorer of the world and a devoted companion to her miniature dachshund. Her efficiency in the workplace is matched only by her warmth and approachability, making her an invaluable asset to both our team and our clients.

Remy Egle

Paralegal

Remy joined Molonglo Legal in 2026 as a paralegal after completing a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Business (majoring in International Business) at the University of Canberra. Remy assists the team across corporate, commercial and litigation matters.

Remy assists the team across corporate, commercial and litigation matters while undertaking further studies required for admission as a solicitor in the ACT during 2026.

He has a particular interest in corporate governance and commercial law, and is interested in the role that innovation and emerging technologies play in modern business.
Outside of work, Remy enjoys outdoor sports including golf and tennis, as well as driving and attending track days.
